What Do You Think?

“Honey, you shouldn’t think that!”

“Really?  Now you’re telling me what to think?”

He was right.  My husband is entitled to his own thoughts and opinions.  I must respect that, and we should talk things out to ascertain why each of us feel and think about a particular situation the way we do.  Who am I to assume for one moment I have the right to tell him how to think?  God is the only One who has that distinct privilege and honor.

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things” (Phil. 4:8 NKJV).

My thinking can be flawed or skewed.  God’s thoughts are always true and right on target.

I used this verse as a filter by which to sift my thoughts and words as I penned “Mom, God’s Got This.”  I desired more than anything to write an accurate account of God’s working in the life events of our daughter, Jamie, and to bring glory and honor to God and to Jamie’s legacy.  Did I achieve that goal perfectly?  Probably not, but with God’s help, I did my very best.

I want to share with you a little known secret.  The eight things listed in Philippians 4:8 that God tells us to meditate on are embedded in the pages of “Mom, God’s Got This.”  Can you find them?  I challenge you as you read the book to look for them, for I clearly mention them in the text—yet another proof that God’s filter was always in the forefront of my thoughts and writing.

By the way, have I mentioned that reading “Mom, God’s Got This” will make you squirm in your chair, squinch your nose and go “whewwwww”, give you many “Ah ha” moments, cause you to laugh out loud and then cry salty tears separated only by a few chapters, and hopefully invoke prayers, more Bible study, soul-searching, and self-examination of your personal walk with God.  That’s a lot from one little book!

Here’s another little known fact:  To date, I have never spent one nickel of proceeds from sales of either of my books for personal use.  Every cent has either gone into the Jamie Norton Lund Scholarship at SAGU or back into promotion and production of my books.  I hope to continue doing this for as long as possible.

“Mom, God’s Got This” is the true story of Jamie and her God.  It’s a story that must circle the globe.  I believe many people around the world will come to Jesus Christ as a result of Jamie’s life and death.  It’s already happening!  Just read some of the reviews posted on my website.

If you have read “Mom, God’s Got This”, you can help send Jamie’s story far and wide by simply going to the giant that is Amazon and submitting your review.  Click HERE.  Thank you.
